Ivar Jacobson – chairman of the advisory board

Dr. Ivar Jacobson is a father of components and component architecture, use cases, the Unified Modeling Language and the Rational Unified Process. He has contributed to modern business modeling and aspect-oriented software development. Lately, Ivar has been working on how to deal with methods and tools in an agile and lean way. He is one of the leaders of SEMAT with the objective to refound software engineering as a rigorous discipline. In 2004, Ivar received the Gustaf Dalen medal from Chalmers Institute Of Technology, Gothenburg Sweden. He is an international honorary advisor at Peking University, Beijing, and he is an honorary doctor at San Martin de Porres University, Peru. He is an author of several books, including the recent "The Essence of Software Engineering". Ivar is also a founder of Ivar Jacobson International, operating in seven countries around the world.

Bertrand Meyer

Bertrand Meyer is Professor of Software Engineering at ETH Zurich and ITMO (Saint Petersburg), as well as Chief Architect of Eiffel Software. He is the author of a number of books including the recent "Touch of Class" (Springer), a first introduction to programming using Eiffel and Design by Contract from the start. He has received a number of awards (ACM Software System Award, Harlan Mills prize, Dahl-Nygaard prize) and is currently starting a 5-year Advanced Investigator Grant from the ERC on "Concurrency Made Easy". Bertrand is also a founder of Eiffel Software.

Richard Mark Soley

Dr. Richard Mark Soley is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of OMG®. As Chairman and CEO of OMG, Dr. Soley is responsible for the vision and direction of the world's largest consortium of its type. Dr. Soley joined the nascent OMG as Technical Director in 1989, leading the development of OMG's world-leading standardization process and the original CORBA® specification. In 1996, he led the effort to move into vertical market standards (starting with healthcare, finance, telecommunications and manufacturing) and modeling, leading first to the Unified Modeling Language TM(UML®) and later the Model Driven Architecture® (MDA®). He also led the effort to establish the SOA Consortium in January 2007, leading to the launch of the Business Ecology Initiative (BEI) in 2009. The Initiative focuses on the management imperative to make business more responsive, effective, sustainable and secure in a complex, networked world, through practice areas including Business Design, Business Process Excellence, Intelligent Business, Sustainable Business and Secure Business. In addition, Dr. Soley is the Executive Director of the Cloud Standards Customer Council, helping end-users transition to cloud computing and direct requirements and priorities for cloud standards throughout the industry.
